California’s proposed Senate Bill 68 (the ADDE Act), which would require restaurants to clearly label the nine major allergens on their menus, has passed the state Senate and is now under review in the Assembly Health Committee. Designed to improve safety for the millions of residents with food allergies, the bill has gained support with recent amendments allowing more flexibility and collaboration with the restaurant industry. As similar allergen labeling laws gain traction in other cities and states across the U.S., it’s clear that transparent allergen communication is becoming an industry-wide expectation.
To help restaurants prepare, we offer a comprehensive set of allergen training materials from our Allergy-/Gluten-Free Training Guide for Restaurants originally developed in 2012. These resources have helped our clients successfully train staff to handle allergens safely and communicate effectively with guests. We’re glad to share these materials with you, to support your team in staying compliant, confident, and ready for what’s ahead.
