Menu Labeling Legislation
On The Menu has spent the last several years preparing for the Food and Drug Administration’s final calorie and nutrition labeling rules which were recently released on November 25, 2014. The ruling requires retail food establishments with 20 or more locations to clearly and conspicuously post the calorie content of food and beverages. In addition to calories, restaurants also must have additional nutrition data to supply their customers upon request. The deadline for compliance is December 1, 2015.
The new nutritional requirements are not a surprise to us or our clients who we work closely with to ensure they are fully compliant with their nutrient information and ready to best serve their customers. If you are new to On The Menu and need to get compliant, please give us a call. We are positioned to analyze menu items and provide nutrient data per the new FDA labeling rules. We can ensure your nutrient data meets the regulations.
